A long productive day

Due to the strikes, my boys and I have been at home all day. Thankfully they've played reasonably well together and not killed each other, which is a miracle. I've had quite a good working day - spent a lot of time looking at Christian Louboutin shoes, which can never be a bad thing!

I'm actually very proud of myself as I have chosen a product and design without umming and aaring for days trying to come to a decision. I must be getting better at this! I've also improved on my sketching quite a lot. (Although I found drawing an aerial view of a stiletto quite tricky.) My first attempts at the start of this module were abysmal, I'm really glad I didn't have to make them public like I have with these ones.

Think I might actually get my early night tonight - a hot bubble bath is running as I type.

Night all :)

Yawn.....

So much for my early night. I'm still amazed at how fast time goes when you're on a computer - even though I've been doing this sort of work for years! It only seems like 2 minutes since Matthew's bedtime and it's going on 11 now.

I've been tinkering with the layout and design of my blog. Think I'm happy with it now... I've changed it back and forth a bit! Just going to show a couple of people and see what they think.

I've also added a couple more pages tonight and will be doing plenty of sketching and modelling tomorrow. Should be good fun :-)  Kids come in handy for something, I've got plenty of play-doh and crayons knocking about!

Feeling lots better now.... apart from Creo Elements!

Well I've managed to get quite a bit done today, even though I've had a parents evening and my dad hasn't been well enough to look after my boys. (Mind you is it still today? Or since it's past midnight is it yesterday now?) I'd got most of my research and planning done in principal but it feels so much better to get it uploaded on here. I've still got a couple of thing to scan but my printer's playing silly buggers and not letting me do it. I think I've probably had enough for one night anyway.

Just one other thing... why oh why can I use Creo on the uni computers without a hitch but as soon as I get home it all goes ape? I've got myself a basic mouse (my wireless one really didn't like Creo) but now it seems that Creo is doing the complete opposite of what I want. Isn't technology brilliant?! Although I'm sure my wonderful tutor John will iron out all the creases for me when I next see him. Hopefully it'll be something basic and obvious. But knowing me it won't be....

Got to get cracking!

Well my blog is all up and running now. I will be adding more pages over the next few days. I should have done this last week and I'm now behind on this project (due to a number of different things) but I'm confident I'll get back on track.

I'm looking forward to working on this project. I've always wanted to write a blog as a way of recording my inane ramblings, but never seem to find the time! I love writing and I feel that this will be a good way to get my thought processes across, as well as allowing me to be creative with the visual elements.

I'm also excited at the prospect of using the rapid prototyping tools, things like that weren't around when I was at school and I think they will be a great tool to use. I'm going to an art exhibition showing pieces created with these processes and I can't wait for that. My friend has got exclusive preview tickets so it's also an opportunity to get a bit glammed up :-) Hopefully I'll be able to get some good photographs of the work and upload them on to here.
